Preparing for Market Day

At the end of this month is another Market Day.  I'm very excited, but trying to find the time to make stuff is becoming very difficult. There is work, Halloween parties are coming up and I still don't have a costume, I like to sleep to much and pure laziness are my downfalls for the most part, but alas, I must push on.  Honestly, I think I work best under pressure and by pressure I mean procrastination and get everything done the night before.  Now kids, I don't recommend it, but for me it seems to work for the most part.
For now I only have a few things done and I took some pictures of what I worked on tonight so here is a sneak peak of at least one thing I will have at Market Day....

And yes... I am ironing a coffee bag.  Hope your all excited as I am!

Help the penguins!

If only I knew how to knit anything more than a scarf, I would love to help out with this....

I have a tumblr, if you dont know what it is look into it because its a great easy blog site to follow people and just post pictures and fun information, and I follow "The Daily What", which is part of the "I Can Has Cheezburger?"site that posts interesting, informative, and up-to-date news of whats going on in the world, whether it is important or not.
WELL, I found this post especially interesting and important.   "The Daily What" posted this article about these poor little penguins that were part of an oil spill and are in need of some tiny sweaters.  These sweaters are not only adorable on them, but also very useful in order to protect them from picking at their oiled covered feathers.
If you are more talented than I and can knit anything more than just a scarf, please help them out!
Here is a direct link to the website that is helping out these penguins and instructions on how to knit them.

I have an Etsy!

As of last week I now have an Etsy!  I only have a small amount of merch up right now but I am quite proud to finally have an Etsy set up.  Its been something that I have wanted to do for awhile because I love creating and making things but I was never sure of what I wanted to make.  At the end of last month I got to be apart of Market Day, a local craft fair, and I HAD to make something for it.  I had previously played around with was t-shirt pillows, where its a cool vintage t-shirt on one side and the other is a nice fabric made of cotton and sometimes flannel.  The chance to be in Market Day really helped me realize that not only do I love crafting, but helped me get the confidence to finally put myself out there and see if people like the stuff I make.  The left over merch from Market Day is now what is on Etsy but I'm going to keep creating pillows and some holiday stuff.  I'm really excited for this new adventure of creating and selling and putting myself out there.

This is a promise...

Several things have gone about since my last post which have obviously kept me very busy from posting.... ok that is a lie, but I have been very busy.  Within the past month I have started a craft, made seven pillows within a week and a half, been in Market Day, created an Etsy, started another project, and am starting a Stich n' Bitch (knitting club) with a friend/coworker.  This may be pointless, because honestly I am not sure if I have any followers, but this blog is a promise to blog more and SOON in the future.  If anything I am writing this as a reminder to myself to be more devoted to updating this blog more than once.
Tomorrow is our first Stich n' Bitch meeting and I am very excited!  I'm not sure if there will be many people, but I am excited to at least start something like this in Des Moines and also, to be able to sit down and make myself have time to knit and gab about anything with fun and interesting people!
Wish me luck, and I promise I will write more!
